Really, so the "Big Shed Drop" is not that impressive eh? Not really surprised by that.
I'll be heading to Panorama on the 22nd then off to Whistler on the 25th. I'll be staying there for about 4 days and then off to Silver Star for 3 days and maybe do a day at Sun Peaks after that. Should be a good time. What about you? Heading out to BC in the next little bit?

How was Rabbit? I haven't been in a while...I hear they have that new run with the "shed drop" done.
My weekend was lame. I had to go and visit some family up in Slave Lake...next time I'll just poke my eye out. It will yield about the same results.

I haven't been to Victoria yet. It's on my list of places to check out though. How long have you been in Alberta?
I know what you're saying about some of the Alberta riders thinking they are much better than they really are. I don't think I ever encountered as much attitude as I have since I moved here in November. In Kamloops everyone would dread the long weekends because all the Albertans would roll in to town to hit the trails. They would act like obnoxious, big egoed filth bags. Ridiculous. And like you said...in BC you can pretty much hook-up with most people to ride and it's a nice mellow scene. I don't get why riders here are so full of themselves.

Where were you living in BC before?
Yeah, I have been riding Golden, Kamloops, Pano and Silver Star lots this summer. I took a trip to check out C.O.P. last month. I used to like in Calgary...and loved riding there after work. They really tore the testicles off the hill this year. I know they are really catering to families and whatnot. It's just too bad they had to take all the fun stuff out. Meh...what can you do though.
Moose is pretty good for Calgary area riding. Other than that I pretty much just head out to BC.
What do you do for work? Or are you in school?

Yeah, I really love Kamloops too. I had a lot of fun when I lived there. People are really friendly and relaxed. The weather is great, winters are mild snd the snowboarding is damn good too.
As for the road trips...I don't mind them. I love the drive and the scenery. It's like a cleans too. I get back to Edmonton and can manage to deal with living here a little bit longer. I'm sure I'll move back to BC at some point
Where do you ride around here? I haven't done a whole lot in the area. Checked out the drops in the river valley and "Bum Park". Went to Rabbit a few times...that's pretty much it.

I lived in Kamloops for a few years. Unfortunately as wonderful as it is there, it wasn't working out career-wise. So I made the move to Edmonton in November. I take LOTS of road trips to BC now...ha ha!
As for the women that ride, I have just noticed that there are a lot more out there in the past year or two. It's good to see for sure!

September is a good time to visit Whistler. Accommodation and flights are cheaper... plus there are far less people on the hill.

I had to moved from BC to Edmonton in the fall. Every weekend is a road trip to the mountains now. I took it for granted a bit when it was in my own backyard.
Have you been out to Whistler or Silver Star at all?

Yeah, it's hard to get things going sometimes. Money and liability ruins it for most of the hills.
I'm guessing the closest lift access riding is Blue for you guys?

Yeah, now that I have moved from Kamloops to Edmonton, I can't say that I know of many women that ride here either. If you ever get out to Kamloops, be sure to swing by the Bicycle Cafe. The owner of the shop is a very good friend of mine. Cheryl is an amazing rider and she's super nice

The riding in Edmonton is terrible! I moved here from Kamloops, BC last November. There really isn't much for mountain biking here. So on weekends I pack up and head to the mountains
I just got back from riding Silver Star and Sun Peaks. So good!

Apparently I feel the need to use my head to break my fall. Yeah, I've gone through 2 Giro Remedys in the last year. I also like to throw the hand/arm out for breakage as well...you know, got to mix it up a bit...ha ha!

Nice riding pics! Your busted up hand is terrible though. How did it heal up? I have broken a few bits that never healed up well and still hurt years later.

I'm guessing they had to put the platform there for liability sake. It's too bad though. All it takes is one idiot to get hurt and ruin it for everyone.
I'm taking the trip with my boyfriend who will have become my husband by the time we leave Pano. We are getting married on Saturday the 23 and then starting a biking/ honeymoon trip.
I took him biking at Sun Peaks on our first date...he wasn't a mountain biker at the time. He had a good crash and decided he liked the sport. He bought a bike and has been riding lots since then. Taught him how to snowboard the following winter. It's nice that we can get out and enjoy the same hobbies! I spent 5 years with a guy that didn't ride and would get pissed off every time I would leave the house with my bike.
Life's too short for that sort of crap.
What about you...Do you have a gf?
